Ashtamangalya Valkannadi is the most traditional model of aranmula mirrors. Famous for its feminine elegance, the ancient affluent families had valkannadi-s in their collection. Valkannadi means – the mirror with a handle ( ‘Pidi’ in Malayalam). The Ashtamangalyam (the traditional set of eight auspicious items) is never complete without Aranmula Valkkannadi.
